Take better travel photographs while respecting residents, craftspeople and private spaces.
Morocco offers strong colors and varied landscapes, but thoughtful photography begins with attention to the people who live in the places you visit. Slow down and consider the story behind each frame.
Ask before portraits
A person selling, working or walking is not automatically available for a portrait. Ask permission, accept refusal and avoid photographing children without a parent or guardian’s consent.
Use light and time
Morning and late afternoon can be comfortable for walking as well as photography. Keep your plans flexible if weather or crowds change the scene.
Protect places you visit
Follow signs at monuments and respect private courtyards. In the medina, step aside before stopping so residents and workers can pass.
